Does the Universe Conspire?

Does the Universe Conspire?

Does the universe conspire

To fracture our sense

Of complacency?

I feel the sun

Pixelate my vision,

Blurring each emotion,

Each choice,

Until I am in the dark…

Light slowly filters in

Through layers of drama

As I approach the cord

That connects me to myself.

In the shadows lie

Generations

Of static reactions

Between soft skin

And sweaty hands,

But my mind remains

Electric and porous,

Eventful and untiring

In its pursuit of the ethereal —

Of non-holy holiness,

Unseen views of warless battles,

And timeless moments

Of unwavering grace

In the face of universal despair.
