A succession of faces

Embedded

Within the folds of

Your smile

Calls forth

Past embraces

And wonder

Through door crevices.

Cell-like structures

Become webs,

Tiny strands

Of molecular miracles

That cross my face.

The cocoon, once

Raptureless, now

Enfolds us in a

Slow dance

Of sheer joy

And subtle

Palpitations.

You have been inside me

From the moment

Of my conception.

You are my past

And my future,

My altar

And the religion

That thunders through this purgatory

Of passion.
