I am driven over by you;

My heart fibrillates

Then contemplates itself

Into normalcy.

I try to be so sane,

So removed from you, and

Unaware of your poetic form,

But I have scanned and plotted

And swayed and stressed

In soft anapests

With you.

Your blood pours into my veins

And I glance out

From behind your eyes.

I shudder

With the flow of our

Moving, interchangeable parts,

But you see the me

That I pretend to be

So to remain,

You must never

Peer beyond the flap

Of nonchalance

Created to counter

Every move your soul makes

Toward mine.
